March Events on Fort Myers Beach: 61st Annual Shrimp Festival

The Fort Myers Beach Shrimp Festival is back! Join our island community for two days as we celebrate everything that makes Fort Myers Beach great! Help raise funds for the local Lions Club. On March 14 & 15 this annual event returns for the 61st  year with an epic parade, Queens Pageant, shrimp eating contest, and a huge vendor village.

This 2-mile-long parade, starting at 10 am on March 14th, runs down the main street of town (Estero Blvd) from the Beach School to Lynn Hall Memorial Park (Festival Grounds) at the foot of the pier on the beach. Guests staying at our property can easily walk to the parade route to check out all the festivities. Enjoy the decorated floats, vehicles and more! Stuck up north? You can live stream the parade when it starts by visiting www.fortmyersbeachshrimpfestival.com.

After the parade, indulge in copious amounts of locally-caught shrimp on the beach and under the pavilion inside Lynn Hall Memorial Park from 10am Saturday until 5pm and Sunday 10am—until they’re all sold out. The Lions Shrimp Boil booth serves Pink Gold Shrimp provided by our local boats along alongside their famous cocktail sauce,

On the Saturday, March 14th, there will be an old-fashioned queen pageant  at 1pm to award scholarships and trophies to local princesses, ages 16-20, on the stairs of the beach pavilion inside Shrimp Festival arts & crafts expo grounds of Lynn Hall Memorial Park.

In addition to all of these great events, more than 100 vendors will hit the beach with plenty of locally made gifts and souvenirs from 10am-5pm on both Saturday and Sunday inside festival grounds at Lynn Hall Memorial Park on the beach. A sampling of art’s and craft’s vendors include: Stone Candles, Corn Hole Game, Metal Sculptures, Tie-Dye Clothing, Sun Catchers, Jewelry, Paintings, Railroad Spike Sculptures, Tiki Bar Signs, Fused Glass Art, Air Plant Gardens, Copper Art, Honey Based Skin Products, Hand Made Apparel, Wind Spinners & Jelly Fish Paperweights.

Our sister restaurant Yucatan Beach Stand is also celebrating during the festival. Join their team and Roar Offshore for their Parade After party at their iconic swing bar. Experience the Roar Offshore Racing Boat as well as live music with DJ Troy spinning right out of the boat. This event starts at 12pm and is located just steps from our property.

Our world famous Tiki Bar is offering the all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet and $2.00 Bloody Marys and Screwdrivers on both Saturday and Sunday from 8am-11am.

The Fort Myers Beach Festival raises tens of thousands of dollars for charities like the Florida Lions Eyebank, Baskin Palmer Eye Institute, Southeast Guide Dogs, large-print books for the local library, Little League and Florida Lions Camp.
