• More Places to Stay
  Our guest rooms will grow from 75 to 130 beautifully designed units, giving you more options and greater comfort whether you’re here for a quick getaway or an extended vacation.  

• A New First Impression
  Existing structures compromised in the 2022 Hurricane Ian will be razed to make room for a building comprised of 3 stories of accommodations with parking below.  This new building structure will be the flagship of the Lighthouse and will welcome all Island Visitors passing over the Matanzas Bridge offering a brand new first impression of Fort Myers Beach.

• Poolside Relaxation & Dining
  A new pool and and food/drink outlets will create the perfect place to unwind. Guests and locals alike will enjoy island-inspired cuisine with refreshing views of the beach and Times Square.

• Fresh New Look
  Our existing buildings will be revitalized with a modern coastal style—bright, clean, and designed to complement the natural beauty of Fort Myers Beach while retaining our heritage of Old Florida style and charm.

• Lighted Park & Walkway
  The walkway near the Matanzas Pass Bridge will be transformed into a vibrant, lighted park—safe, scenic, and inviting for evening strolls with activity stations for children to discover and explore.

• Curated Retail Experience
  Our retail space is being reimagined into a more intimate setting, offering a thoughtful selection of essentials and keepsakes.

The Lighthouse has been family-owned for over six decades, with four generations carrying the tradition of hospitality forward. Owner Tommy Kolar shared,

“This hotel has been a major part of my family and this community for my entire life. I feel incredibly blessed to be part of such a great place, and it means the world to continue building on that legacy for the next generation.”

We know how important it is that your Lighthouse experience remains seamless while we grow. That’s why all construction will be completed in carefully planned phases, allowing us to thrive and deliver the same level of comfort, service, and hospitality you expect throughout the transition.

At the heart of this transition will be our new resort pool & cabana bar completed in 2025—a signature amenity designed as a hub for relaxation, gathering, and fun. This pool, along with the Tiki Bar Bar & Grill will continue to serve as an integral part of the Lighthouse experience & entertainment for years to come.
